Building a healthy, non-toxic house may seem like overwhelming work. The wonderful news is that there are many small steps to take to create a non-toxic home and eliminate some of those normal contagions that could affect your family’s health. Which are the largest places in the house that have the most effect on our health?
Replace Plastic in Your Pantry
Instead of throwing away all the plastic containers at once, start changing the container or bottles of water you use often. And it’s not enough to buy without BPA. Options without BPA usually include BPS or GMP, each of which is harmful compared to BPA, but each is even more harmful. It would be best if you started by glass storage jars and know the freezing benefits in jars.
Eat Organic Food
This may seem easier said than accomplished, but it is simply one of the best ways to lessen your toxic exposure. Not only has it been shown that organic products contain more nutrients, but a study showed that consuming natural products for a few days can significantly reduce the number of pesticides in your body. Always try to buy the Dirty Dozen list products’ organic variants, and you don’t have to trouble so much about purchasing the organic version, which contains much fewer pesticides.
Avoid Artificial Scent
One of the first things to keep an eye on the label is the smell. The artificial odor is not only used in deodorants and candles but also much personal care merchandise, such as creams and conditioners and things like baby wipes. However, it is important to buy that says, “unscented.” Be careful with these words on the label, because this usually means that other chemicals have been added to hide the smell. Spreading essential oils is a good option if you don’t need to do without fragrances in your facility.
